Yesterday, I watched Steve Jobs' speech at Stanford University in 2005, and I was deeply touched. He told us three stories from his heart. That makes me think about how many things I've learned from him throughout his journey of creation. Steve Jobs is my motivation.
1, Connecting the dots
When Steve Jobs was a student at university, he couldn't afford the tuition. He dropped out of school, but he never stopped learning. After that, he attended a typography class. This class was the foundation for him to create beautiful typographies for Apple. For him, learning is never excessive. One thing you learn is one dot. Someday, when you connect the dots to create something, you might see the miracle.
2, Love what you do
Steve Jobs believed that the only way to be great at what you do is to love it. When you love something, you try to make them the best. You try new things and make them better every day. That's when you make a difference from the rest of the world. If now you don't love what you do, don't settle to find your dream and love. Keep moving, and don't settle.
I can feel the message from him. When I love English, Ecommerce, Marketing and Writing, I'm so happy doing them. But in my view, love is not easy and random. You have to put your time and effort into what you do before realizing that you love them. If you had tried something for one or two days, and then you quit because It's hard and you feel like It's not what you love, you would haven't reached any love destination. Let's keep going to find out our dream, but we have to be resilient in this journey of searching for love.
3, Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life
Steve Jobs was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2003. In 2011, he passed away at the age of 56. His life was not too long, and it made him realize how valuable time is. He wanted us to know that time is our treasure. God gives us time to live a meaningful life, not chase someone else's life. We can't know when God might tell us, "your time is up." That's why you should value your time and live a happy life with minimal regrets.
4, The passion for art
Steve Jobs was a big fan of music. He idolized Bob Dylan. According to his friend, Steve Jobs bought all albums and attended almost Bob Dylan's concerts. He was so obsessed with Dylan's music. He thought that Bob Dylan is an innovative artist, and he applied this creative spirit to Apple.
Steve Jobs also built Pixar, which is now one of the most famous animation firms in the world. Besides music, Steve Jobs was so passionate about movies too. For me, Steve Jobs' brain was a combination of science and art, making him very special. He used both science and art to create successful companies, such as Apple and Pixar.
His passion for art makes me think about how passionate I'm about music. I love music and artists who create magic and healing stories through their songs. BLACKPINK and Vu Cat Tuong are my inspirations, and I also applied the lessons I've learned from them to my career, life, blog, etc.
I think art is magic. The inspiration we get from art is one of the most significant gifts in life. When we let our brains be free and enjoy music, movies, etc., we might see a miracle in our lives or business.
In the end, Steve Jobs is the revolution. His passion was passed on to generations. I've applied his valuable lessons to my life, and I'm making progress. He is always my inspiration.
