Although I am an extrovert, I still feel happy doing what I love at home. Here is my list of things I do to make my precious time at home more valuable.
1. Reading a book
I have read books since my high school years. The first book I read was "I'm gifted, so are you" by Adam Khoo, and this book made a huge impact on my mindset at the time. I started believing in myself more and more and tried my best every single day to accomplish my goals. Until now, I still keep on reading every week, and this habit brings me so much joy and benefits. I learn English, marketing, and general knowledge from top experts in these fields. That’s why I highly recommend books to everyone I talk to. Reading books is not only an activity I do when I have spare time; it’s also one of my biggest mentors in life.
2. Listening to music
Music always plays an important part in my life. I love going to concerts and acoustic coffee shops to feel the rhythm. However, during the pandemic, I can’t go out and immerse myself in live music. That’s why I choose to enjoy music at home with my earphones. Fortunately, it continues to provide me with valuable experience. In fact, I’m a huge fan of K-POP, BLACKPINK is my biggest motivation in music, and watching their journey inspires me to work hard for my dreams as they did. For me, music is not just about some catchy songs, It’s more than that, It’s about an artist’s journey in music, and I’ve learned so many things through discovering their journey. Alongside music, I gain more knowledge about languages, marketing, and even business while following BLACKPINK’s stuff, and it might broaden my horizons. So, do you like music? And what is your favorite song?
3. Watching a TV show or movie
I’ve watched more reality TV shows since I signed up for Netflix. There are many "oh wow" TV shows and movies I can watch, enjoy, and learn some new things on Netflix. Here is my list of TV shows I’m totally in love with recently: "The Most Amazing Vacation Rentals", "Life after Death", "The Big Flower Fight", "Big Timber", and "BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky", etc. For me, watching TV shows or movies is like taking a step back to observe other people’s lives and activities. We learn to enjoy it through their stories. Moreover, if you want to learn a new language, I think watching movies is a good choice to expand your vocabulary and improve your listening skills.
4. Writing a blog post
I’ve been writing for two years since the pandemic of 2020, and I’ve never thought that I could go this far. Now, I have my own website to write down many things running through my head, and writing has become one of my biggest hobbies at home. In my view, writing helps me understand more about myself and discover some hidden parts inside me. Furthermore, writing is a creative activity. I think we usually feel enjoyable when we consume something out there, such as surfing on Facebook, watching movies, etc. It’s time for us to start producing things and communicating with the world out there through our own words, to create and add value, not just consume. When I publish my blog posts and get some comments from like-minded people, I experience the new happiness of creation, It’s a life-changing experience for sure. Let’s sit down and start writing down your thoughts for 10 minutes. You will see the miracle.
5. Learning a course
It’s quite weird, but I find it so much fun during the learning process. I think I’m a lifelong learner. Since the day I discovered Skillshare in January this year, my learning life has changed a lot. I’ve learned so many things, such as marketing, writing, English, etc., on Skillshare with a low budget, I’m so excited to tell you guys how useful Skillshare is. Skillshare is an international learning platform where you can find out almost everything you need to learn. When I spend my valuable time learning some new skills on Skillshare, I know that I'm doing a productive activity that makes me feel happy. If your English level is above B1, I think Skillshare is a good platform for you to learn new things with joy.
To sum up, I think we all need to be blissful. Let’s put your phone down and try new activities that can cultivate joy for you and also help you grow. Share it with me if we are on the same page. Now, let’s get the ball rolling!
